Institut
Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta is known as the ISI Yogyakarta, is an institution of
higher education with the status of the domestic arts college full, and have
the authority to provide education to the highest level. ISI established the
Presidential Decree No: 39/1984 dated May 30, 1984, and inaugurated the
establishment by the Minister of Education and Culture, Professor. Dr. Nugroho
Notosusanto, on July 23, 1984.
ISI
campus is located in the land area of 18 hectares located in the south of the
city center, exactly at the Parangtritis Road Km. 6 Sewon, Bantul. On the land
area above the standing facilities comprising public facilities, education and
support facilities.
VISION

Yogyakarta is a superior art institute and leader in the Tri Darma Higher
Education, as a center of excellence in the field of art education, to produce
graduates who are immoral, have the spirit of democracy and independence in the
development of science, technology and art, in favor of advancing the national
development community and preserve the national culture.
MISSION
ISI
Yogyakarta education and research that support national development, community
service that is consistent with the philosophy of the institute, fostering a
healthy academic life, and to develop the findings of science, technology, art
and creativity, by optimizing the utilization of available resources.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
ISI
in organizing educational aims: Establish a personality completely mansian
Indonesia Pancasila as stated in the 1945 Constitution, able to carry out the
work in the community diversity in a professional, skilled and creative as the
art expert who has the attitude and scientific competition, a full sense of
responsibility , conscious, loving and determined to develop a national culture
in order to service people on the development of the nation with fear to God
Almighty.
Based
on institutional goals, ISI Yogyakarta Pancasila produce art scholars,
professionals and not awkward in dealing with development of Indonesia to
participate, as detailed in the Guidelines of State Policy (GBHN) 1988, which
among others states that the promotion and development of art as an expression
of national culture tried to be able to accommodate the growing power copyright
the artists, and strengthen national identity.
